JANE DEVONSHIRE – 4pm Friday
Hampshire based Celebrity Chef – Winner of MasterChef 2016
Since winning MasterChef in 2016, Jane has taken the bull by the food horns and tested herself further by working with a number of amazing chefs including Marcus Wareing, Atol Kochhar, Jason Atherton, Michel Roux and Michael O’Hare at their restaurants.
Jane has presented at numerous Food Drink Shows around the UK including BBC Good Food Show, Foodies and many others. Her travels have taken her from Edinburgh to Brighton and loads in-between learning that she has a love of presenting her recipes and chatting to people about food.
Corporate activities have included cookery school days with CEOs and Executives and brand representation for companies like BBC, Dualit and Caple including demonstrations and recipes.
She is in the process of writing her first book based on everyday hassle free gluten free recipes.
PR wise Jane has appeared on numerous programmes and in editorial including BBC Breakfast, Loose Women, South Today and Women’s Hour and Daily Mail amongst many others.
One day a week is put aside for support for two cancer charities which are very close to her heart, Ark Cancer Charity and The Haven. As well as working with charities, Jane is also working closely with local schools to impart her enthusiasm for food amongst the students.
The past year has been incredibly busy for Jane and is getting busier by the day. She’s having a wonderful time however, she still loves being a ‘stay at home’ mum washing socks and making dinner!
PETE MURT – 1pm Sunday
Head Chef at Rick Stein, Sandbanks
Born and bred in Padstow, Pete grew up in the small fishing village in the South of England. In 2012 Pete moved to London and worked at two Michelin stared Hibiscus Restaurants as chef de partie for a couple of years before going travelling for six months.
In 2015 Pete returned to The Seafood Restaurant and was offered the role as head chef at Rick Stein, Sandbanks. Here he loves working within a large team and exploring the local area.
FABIEN COZIC – 1pm Friday
Head Chef at Cliff House Hotel
Originally from Brittany in France, Fabien loves fish and seafood and has always tried to cook what the country has to offer, to keep his dishes local and seasonal. He found his passion in cooking by learning with Michelin Star chefs and travelling through his career enriching his culinary skills in both Switzerland and Canada. He also took part in the TV show chefs on trial with Alex Polizzi and made it to the final in Cornwall!
The dish Fabien will be cooking at in Taste of the South s demonstration kitchen will be a fresh out of the sea Langoustines à la crême lemon emulsion.
MARK HARTSTONE – 2pm Friday and 1pm Saturday
La Fosse at Cranborne
Chef proprietor Mark Hartstone initially trained as a Geologist (no rock cake puns) and Petroleum Engineer. On the first day of the millennium he had an epiphany decided to follow his dream and passion of cooking.
Mark reached the final in 4 national chef competitions. Winning regional competitions such as Chef of the Year in the Dorset Magazine Food, Drink Farming Awards 2015 and the 2006 prestigious National Seafood Recipe Challenge.
In 2008 Mark and his wife Emmanuelle started their own business La Fosse at Cranborne. Since then he has been three times Finalist in “Best Dorset Restaurant”, won Best Dorset Recipe, twice won Best Dorset Cheeseboard, Highly Recommended by the World Cheese Association for several years, and appears in the Good Food Guide. In 2015 Mark was awarded the Dorset Magazine Food, Drink Farming Awards Chef of the Year and in 2016 La Fosse at Cranborne won Best Dorset Restaurant and Best Dorset Food Drink Business at the Taste of the West Awards.
SARAH ALI CHOUDHURY – 12pm Saturday
Sarah Ali Choudhury is taking the nation by storm with her real, home cooked Indian recipes. Sarah cooked for Prue Leith, Michael Caines and Raymond Blanc on Channel 4 s My Kitchen Rules and now has several food columns nationally and is recognised as an Indian food Expert. The mother of 4 has her own YouTube Channel and is currently working on her own Cookery book. Sarah Ali Choudhury is very proud to have been nominated for The Rising Star Award with Bournemouth Tourism Awards.
Sarah will be cooking a ‘Mackerel Chilli Blaze’ at Taste of the South Festival. The mackerel from the Jurassic Coast and the blaze (fierce chilli) from the Dorset Naga Chillies delicious!
SETH LE NOURY – 3pm Sunday
Seth Le Noury has a passion and natural talent for cooking. Having spent most of his summers as a child in Guernsey he has fond memories of catching seabass and crab with his grandfather and learning how to cook them with his grandmother. He went on to gain qualifications at Runshaw College in the north west of England with his first apprenticeship at The Walnut Tree with Franco Taruschio and then onto the Vine Yard at Stocks Cross. He worked at Quo Vadis with Curtis Stone in Marco Pierre White’s flagship Italian restaurant in Soho. Relocating to Bournemouth Seth went on to win the Wessex Shield senior chef of the year soon after. He is now running his own business, Oyster Catering, bringing fine food to local events and dinner parties.
For the demonstration Seth plans to cook Sopley asparagus with breaded Isle of Wight cheese and coppa di parma.
LOUISE JONES – 2pm Saturday
Food for Thought Cookery School
Louise Jones is the Creator of Food for Thought Cookery School and a raw chocolatier. After suffering with Anaemia Louise turned to healthy, natural ingredients, changing her diet which cured her Anaemia. She went on to qualify as a nutritionist and continued to improve upon her healthy cooking and well being knowledge. Louise helps teach and inspire local people to eat and make healthy foods through cookery lessons in their own home including some of her best selling classes raw chocolate and healthy breakfasts and snacks. She also sells raw chocolates made with pure essential oils for added health benefits and energy balls locally.
On Saturday at 2pm Louise will be sharing with us some of her healthy sweet treats and you ll get to try her raw chocolate as well. This will include a healthy cookie, a natural take on a snickers bar and sunshine energy balls.
